-I am currently working on clearing a small backlog of orders. I am accepting new orders for Smallpipes on a limited basis
Smallpipe sets are made to order, and as such can be customized to your preferences and needs. Custom options can include (but are not limited to) choice of materials, external design and drone configuration. Working by hand and making only one set at a time allows me the opportunity to produce an instrument to suit your particular aesthetic or sonic needs.

Custom sets of smallpipes pitched in A 440 come with 3 drones, chanter in A, leather bag, custom wood drone reeds and bellows are priced starting at $2700. Sets pitched in D or C are $2550. This includes your choice of standard mount materials and metal ferrules. This also includes the customer’s choice of tone wood and bellows wood.
A custom 4 drone combination set with 2 chanters pitched in A and D is $3300
Standard smallpipe sets in A, 3 drones, bellows, bag and reeds are $2000. Standard sets are only available in limited wood choices (ex; Katalox or Bloodwood depending on availability). The decoration and turning is simpler with brass ferrules and integrated turning rather than separate mounts. Cane chanter reed, composite drone reeds, leather bag, bellows are all included.
Borderpipes are available to order on a very limited basis. A standard 3 drone set pitched in A 440 is $3500
Bellows and accessories
Current wait for a custom made instrument is approximately 2-3 years. Wait time for Standard sets is around 1 year.
Bellows, bags, reeds are generally available in 1-2 months
A $100 deposit is requested to be placed on the waitlist. Approximately 3 months from finishing the instrument we will finalize the configuration and wood choices, at that time I will request a 50% payment. The remaining balance due prior to delivery.
Cash/Checks are accepted. Paypal and credit cards are also accepted
Any shipping costs are additional,
USPS priority mail with insurance is typically around $75 for a full instrument.

- Individual chanters pitched in A, D, and C with a split stock, cap, and cane reed are $450
- An additional fourth drone can be added to 3 drone A sets playing an alto high E and D, or D and C $225 including reed
- Due to the higher cost of materials and seasoning time, African Blackwood smallpipe sets are an additional $100, add $50 for a matching drone stock in African Blackwood
- Deer or Moose Antler mounts add — per mount (no longer available)

- the standard set up for drones is Bass, Tenor, Alto
- a Baritone drone can be substituted for the Alto drone
- Individual Borderpipe chanters are $700 and include a split stock to match your set, and are reeded with a cane reed by Iain Allen
Bellows and accessories
- My standard pattern bellows are $450 and available in a selection of solid hardwoods, cherry, walnut, maple, mahogany. Leather bellows padding can be added for an additional $25 charge per side
- My standard pattern leather smallpipe bags are $150. These are made with a riveted seam and use a sealed leather
- Additional cane chanter reeds are available for $60
- Custom wooden body drone reed sets for my instruments are $120 for 3 drones, $160 for 4 drones
Current wait for a custom made instrument is approximately 2-3 years. Wait time for Standard sets is around 1 year.
