Quietpiper Instrument Information
I offer two levels of instruments, Custom and Basic Standard.
Custom level smallpipe sets include your choice of tone wood, mount materials, and bellows wood. Custom sets have a hand applied French polish finish (depending on the wood choice).
Sets pitched in A 440 come with 3 drones, chanter in A, leather bag, custom wood drone reeds and bellows are priced starting at $2400. Sets pitched in D or C start at $2250.
A custom 4 drone combination set with 2 chanters pitched in A and D are priced starting at $2900
Standard smallpipe sets in A, 3 drones, bellows, bag and reeds are $1900. Acoustically, these sets are of the same design as the Custom sets. The decoration and turning is simpler with brass ferrules and integrated turning rather than separate mounts. Standard sets are only available in Katalox or Bloodwood and have a hand rubbed oil finish. Cane chanter reed, composite drone reeds, leather bag, bellows are all included.
Individual chanters are available pitched in A, D, and C with a split stock, cap, and cane reed are $400
An additional fourth drone can be added to 3 drone A sets playing an alto high E and D, or D and C $200 including reed
Due to the higher cost of materials and seasoning time, African Blackwood smallpipe sets are an additional $100, add $50 for a matching drone stock in African Blackwood
Deer, Moose Antler or Horn mounts add $25 per mount
Border pipes are available to order on a very limited basis at this time. A custom 3 drone set pitched in A 440 is $3200. The typical set up for drones is Bass, Tenor, and Alto. As an option, a Baritone drone can be substituted for the Alto drone
The first step in our ordering process is to get on the waiting list. Once you're on the list, we will invite you to fill out the order info on the link above so that we can prepare the materials for your instrument. When you are 2-3 months from being off the waiting list and moving into instrument production, we will email you to confirm the details of your order and send you an invoice for a 50% deposit. Checks are preferred. Paypal and credit cards are also accepted.
The balance will be due when the instrument is completed and ready for shipping or pick up.
Any shipping costs are additional , USPS priority mail with insurance is typically around $65 for a full instrument.
Currently, we are expecting a 1 - 2 year wait time for new instruments.
